Athens Stock Exchange: The General Index closed with a positive sign


The prices of shares at the first meeting of the week today (9.12.2024) at the Athens Stock Exchange, with market to exceed the levels of 1,460 units.

The market completed six bullish sessions, during which the main stock index recorded a total gain of 5.13%. The General Price Index closed at 1,464.96 points, marking an increase of 0.58%. The value of transactions amounted to 144.62 million. euros, while 34,505,435 shares were traded. The large-cap index rose 0.67%, while the mid-cap index gained 0.07%.

Of the high capitalization shares, the biggest increase was recorded by the shares of Ethniki (+3.83%), ELPE (+3.41%), Lamda Development (+2.39%) and Ellactor (+2. 23%). On the contrary, the biggest drop was recorded by the shares of Coca Cola HBC (-1.81%), EYDAP (-1.19%) and Titan (-0.63%).

The largest volume of transactions was presented by Alpha Bank and Eurobank, trading 9,047,260 and 7,719,912 shares, respectively. The highest value of transactions was recorded by National with 42.01 million. euros and Piraeus with 18.92 million. euro.

58 stocks moved up, 26 down and 38 remained stable. The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Prodea +9.68% and Q&R +7.86%. The biggest drop was registered by the shares: Minerva -6.67% and Progressive -5.06%.
