Athens Stock Exchange: The General Index closed with a negative sign in the week

Strong declining trends have been recorded by shares in the Athens Stock Exchange, amid a negative climate in European markets, in the aftermath of the signature by the US president of the executive decree to impose higher duties on imports of products from dozens of US and US trade partners.

The General Price Index closed at 1,960.06 points, down 1.73%. Intra-conference recorded lower price at 1,948.51 points (-2.31%). On a weekly basis, the basic stock market declined 0.44%, while earnings 33.37%since the beginning of the year.

The value of the transactions amounted to EUR 322.75 million, with 59,305,639 shares. The high capitalization index fell 1.79%, while the middle capitalization index fell 0.83%.

Of the high capitalization shares, the shares of PPA (+0.62%) and ELPE (+0.19%) rose. On the contrary, the biggest decline was the shares of Lamda Development (-4.80%), Piraeus (-3.69%), PPC (-3.02%), GEK TERNA (-2.77%), Elvalhalcor (-2.58%), Mytilineos (-2.52%) and OTE (-2.14%).

Alpha Bank and Lamda Development, with 17,729,887 and 13,257,750 shares, was highlighted by Lamda Development with 81.71 million euros and Alpha Bank with € 58.21 million.

11 shares were on the rise, 99 declining and 18 remained stable. The shares rose the most: Progressive (+8.70%) and Vidavo (+1.74%). The biggest decline was recorded by the shares: Haidmeni (-8.98%) and Kyriakoulis (-7.88%).
