Patients upward trends record shares prices in the opening of today (9.7.2025) session of the Athens Stock Exchange, amid mild upward movement of European market.
The market has completed six upward meetings during which the basic stock market records a total of 4.22%. Specifically, the General Price Index on the Greek Stock Exchange stands at 1,951.54 points, up 0.23%. The value of the transactions is EUR 26.75 million.
The high capitalization index rose 0.13%, while the medium capitalization index is marginally reinforced by 0.08%.
Of the high capitalization shares, the shares of PPA (+1.17%), PPC (+0.97%) and Piraeus (+0.60%) were recorded. On the other hand, the shares of Cyprus (-0.65%), Aegean (-0.63%) and Aktor (-0.37%) were the biggest decline.
Today, Optima Bank shares are negotiating with a new nominal value of € 1.15 from € 3.45 and without the right to free shares with a ratio of 3 new ones for every 1 old. The starting price of the stock is 7.43 euros.
50 shares are upward, 27 declines and 22 remain stable.
The shares were the largest rise: CNL Capital (+18.80%) and Lanakam (K) (+6.36%), while the shares decline: Mathios Pyrimha (-6.67%) and three ‘Alpha (K) (-2.30%).
European stock markets
European shares today rose to the start of transactions today, with investors awaiting evidence of progress for a trade agreement with the US.
The Pan -European Stoxx 600 index rose 0.45% to 546.94 points. The FTSE 100 on the London Stock Exchange wins 0.23%, the German DAX 0.71%and the French CAC 40 0.73%. The FTSE MIB in Milan rises by 1.22% and the Spanish IBEX 35 by 1.03%.
US President Donald Trump said yesterday that “probably” within the next two days he will send to the European Union the letter announcing the duties that European countries will have to pay to export to the US.
Defense companies’ shares rose 1.1% while banks were up almost 1%. Energy shares rose 0.8%earlier.
