Retreated today (6.5.2025) the General index of Athens Shipowneras it was influenced by the pressures on bank stocks and the negative climate in European markets, after voting against the candidate Mertz by the German Parliament for the position of Chancellor.
Specifically, the General Index of the Athens Stock Exchange while operating marginally over 1,730 points finally closed at 1,716.22 points, with a decrease of 0.87%.
The bank stocks, with the title of Piraeus Bank, were pressed, closing 1.09% to € 5,098, recording the largest turnover on the market (€ 24.2 million). It is noted that the Bank today announced (6.5.2025) increased profits of 10% to € 284 million, while its results generally moved according to analysts’ forecasts.
The EIB closed at € 9.38 with a higher losses of 3.18%. Alpha Bank closed at € 2,209 with 0.94%, and Eurobank to EUR 2,427 declined 2.53%. It is noted that the results for all systemic banks will be completed within the week.
However, the rest of the Blue Chips were also pressured, with more than 1% declining Metlen (1.61% at 41.5 euros), PPA and Motor Oil (-1.19% at 21,360 euros). Significant losses of 2.90% for the AVAX title at 2,010 euros.
On the contrary, Titan closed 1.12% at € 40.60 after publishing positive results for its subsidiary in the US.
At the same time, today it is the last day before the dividend to the dividend to OPAP, € 0.80, with the share unchanged at 20 euros, with a significant volume of trading at € 11.7 million. Tomorrow the stock will negotiate without the right to dividend.
