The Wang – Shefsovic meeting will be the third known discussion between the two this year. Sefcovic visited the Chinese capital in late March, when he also met with Chinese Vice President He Lifeng. A video call followed on April 8.
The Chinese government has tried to strengthen its bonds worldwide to resist Trump’s duties, among other things, offering European groups rarely access to senior politicians and promising to improve China’s business environment for foreign companies.
