The “Aradaina Bridge” is located above the Aradaina Gorge in Chania and is the highest but also the most impressive bridge Throughout Greece.
At 138 meters high is the second highest bridge in Europe and one of the most popular bungee jumping destinations in the world.
This is the metal bridge with which the two sides of the Aradaina Gorge joined, thereby joining the villages west, such as Saint John with Anopolis and the rest of Sfakia.
Until then, its inhabitants were very difficult, as they had to go down the steep slopes of the canyon on foot or with donkeys.
The bridge was an offer by the Vardinoyannis brothers whose family comes from St. John, a 5km village west of Aradaina.
In the middle of the bridge there is a platform and the sport of the jump with a rubber rope, bungee jumping is held.
It is one of the most interesting Sfakian canyons and definitely one of the biggest ones. The old ones called it “gorge” to distinguish it from the rest, but this designation was incorrectly given to the Samaria Gorge.
Although most people think it is just 7 kilometers long, as everyone starts their way from the village of Aradaina, about the middle of the canyon length, the real length is 15 kilometers.
