Green light gave RIS to proceed with the work of pumping it PPC to mine Heart in Western Macedonia.
It is an energy storage unit that will use two water reservoirs in order to absorb or channel energy to the network depending on the conditions. The RIS published the decision to approve the environmental terms of the PPC pumping project in the heart mine.
According to the forecasts, the station will have a maximum power of 148 MW and a duration of eight hours. At the same time, it is foreseen to connect it to the ADMIE network through a new substation.
Overall, the project concerns a pumping unit with two reservoirs (Upper and Lower Savings), Incorcation Tunnel, Electricity Production Station, surface sewage and underground raids and interconnection line.
This pump was recently presented by the PPC administration, in the framework of the € 5.8 billion investment program for Western Macedonia. The company intends to implement a second respective unit in the area.
