Anthony Randolph: The two-time Euroleague winner retired from active action

THE Anthony Randolph announced that he decided to end his career, at the age of 35, having done a great career, competing at the power forward position and winning the title twice Euroleague with Real Madrid, in 2018 and 2023.

Anthony Randolph played as a natural in Slovenia, winning the title of European champion at EuroBasket 2017 in Istanbul, with Luka Doncic quite young at the time and even injured in that memorable final against Serbia.

He was born on July 15, 1989 in Wutzburg, Germany, to American parents, who – both – served in the US Army in Germany.

He played in 257 games in the NBA, in the Warriors, Knicks, Timberwolves and Nuggets, while in Europe the first stop in his career was Lokomotiv Kuban, coached by the current coach of Olympiacos and the first Greek coach to win the Euroleague (2013 with Olympiacos in London), Giorgos Bartzokas.

From 2016 to 2023, he played for Real Madrid, but the injuries he faced forced him to stay on the pitches from 2023.

In Spain, with Real Madrid, he won the Spanish league title three times (2018, 2019, 2022), two Spanish Cups (2017, 2020) and five Spanish Super Cups (2018-2022). In 2016, he was also selected in the second best team of the Euroleague.

“After 15 years, I am retiring from basketball. It was a trip full of unforgettable moments, many titles and memories that will last a lifetime. I am grateful to all those with whom I worked. Basketball has given me more than I could have dreamed of and shaped me as both a player and a person.

I look forward to the next chapter and the next opportunities to continue to grow and deliver,” he posted, bidding farewell to his fans.
