Anna Efthymiou: “We will continue to work to protect workers’ rights”

Ms Efthymiou referred in detail to the dialogue expected to begin to strengthen collective bargaining, the ministry’s initiatives to further reduce unemployment, the increase in the minimum wage, and the expansion of the digital card to other sectors, as well as its benefits. At the same time, he analyzed the axes on which the Ministry of Labor and Social Security moves to further stimulate employment.

As he said, the ministry focuses on population groups, where there is significant room for improvement, such as women, young people, our fellow citizens with disabilities and our older fellow citizens.

Emphasis is also emphasized on the training and upgrading of skills, especially in green and digital skills.

“At the same time, we are developing subsidized employment programs, such as our fellow citizens from 55 years and over and prioritize vocational education and training, through the Public Employment Office Schools (DBA),” the Deputy Minister of Labor noted, adding that the labor mechanism was used.

In addition, Ms Efthymiou stressed that “career days” are being organized in our country and abroad, and also stressed that compliance with labor legislation is being strengthened through the use of the digital work card, which is currently protecting more than 1.5 million workers.
