“The cost of living has taken off. In Greece we had a very strong national health system, but today citizens are paying the second highest private health costs. At the moment when the purchasing power of the Greeks is the penultimate in Europe. Many are turning to private education because publicly has been depreciated. In terms of rents, the numbers are revealing: in 4 years rents increased by 52%, “the PASOK president underlined.
He stressed that “as a lineup we must rebuild the welfare state: strong public education and health, but also to develop a coherent housing policy to deal with demographic aging.” He said that “many young children are not just leaving Greece for financial reasons. They are leaving both because of the disagreement and the lack of respect for the state to the citizen. That is why I often say that our country needs to become a normal European state in order for young children to stay in our country. “
