Letter to the President of the House Nikita Kaklamani, with which he calls for a day -to -day debate to the House of Representatives on the current situation in the Gaza Strip, the Nikos Androulakis.
In it, PASOK’s president states:
‘To the Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament
Mr Nikita Kaklamani
Dear Mr. President,
As is more widely known, the crisis in Gaza has already entered a very dangerous phase for months, particularly critical to the life and dignity of its inhabitants and catalytic for future developments in the area. The illegal settlements on the West Bank and the exclusion of the Gaza Strip in previous years, the Hamas terrorist attack in October 2023 and Israel’s military operations in the area, have created a very dangerous and explosive scene in the area, with the most dangerous and explosive scene.
Especially after the ceasefire has collapsed last March, the re -establishment and intensification of military operations, in the implementation of recent Israeli government decisions, a dramatic increase in the number of dead has occurred -over 60,000 people have lost their lives since October 20, Humanitarian aid has essentially been interrupted and systematically obstructed, the Gaza area has almost been leveled, its inhabitants are violently displaced and experiencing starvation conditions, while Hamas’ hostages remain in custody and have not been released.
It is now clear and distinct that the operations of the Israeli Armed Forces – the explicit confession of Prime Minister B. Netanyahu – aim to completely evacuate the Gaza Strip by all of its Palestinian inhabitants and, therefore, constitute an act of ethnic cleansing.
In the face of this situation, in the blatant violations of international law and international humanitarian law, with tragic dimensions on the humanitarian level, but also unpredictable wider geopolitical implications, it is clear that the Greek Parliament, the most democratic, its own, Ethnic cleansing -without balances and equal distances against horror. It is absolutely necessary and more imperative than ever before, to confirm today Greece’s sincere and unconditional commitment to the two states, as a result of talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, in accordance with the relevant UN decisions -the only fair and solemnity of the city.
For these reasons, and in the light of recent rapid and tragic developments in Gaza, I ask you to convene the plenary of the body in order to discuss – in the day -to -day provision – the current situation in Palestine, with the aim of confirming and updating its content of 22.12.2015. Palestinian state from Greece and to undertake any possible diplomatic effort to immediately launch direct peace talks.
