Andros: The British named it Greece’s top walking destination for 2025

OR Andross won the title of the top Greek destination for walk arounds for 2025, according to poll of UK travellers at the Greek Travel Awards. This accolade is expected to further enhance the island’s visibility in the UK market, confirming the growing international appeal of its organized walking routes.

The Cycladic island was nominated in the category of the best walking destination in Greece in the annual Greek Travel Awards organized by the EOT Office of Great Britain for the last four years. The British public responded to the nomination and chose Andros as the top destination.

It is worth noting that Andros is located on top of “secrets” Greek islands which are generally recommended to European travelers. The popular German travel website Reisereporter includes the island among the best Greek destinations that meet the profile of the modern European tourist who is “looking for a quiet and remote holiday destination for their next off-peak trip”.

The award

The award took place at an honorary event organized by the Hellenic Tourism Organization on Tuesday, November 5, after the completion of its first day of work. international exhibition tourism WTM 2025 in London.

The award implies significant visibility for the destination in Great Britain as the results were watched by reputable journalists, bloggers and tourism professionals. Also, throughout the previous period, the collaboration between the EOT Office of the United Kingdom and the Municipality of Andros was dynamic, while promotion actions were implemented by both agencies.
