The award took place at an honorary event organized by the Hellenic Tourism Organization on Tuesday, November 5, after the completion of the first day of work at the international tourism exhibition WTM 2025 in London. The award means significant exposure for the destination in the UK as the results were watched by authoritative journalists, bloggers and tourism professionals. It is noted that the voting of the traveling public for the Greek TravelAwards 2025 was done in collaboration with the IceLolly and Travelsupermarket platforms, two of the most established and popular engines for comparing prices and booking holiday packages and other travel services in the United Kingdom.
It is noted that throughout the previous period, the cooperation between the UK EOT Office and the Municipality of Andros was dynamic, while promotion actions were implemented by both agencies.
“We warmly thank the director of the EOT Office of Great Britain, Eleni Skarveli, for the excellent organization, the immediate response and the continuous efforts that have contributed to the strengthening of the recognition of the destination in the British market. This award justifies and highlights the efforts of Andros Routes, the Andriotian volunteers who contribute the most to the maintenance and cleanliness of the paths, of local bodies and of the Municipality” said the Mandated Municipal Councilor for Tourism of the Municipality of Andros, Nikos Moustakas.
