According to the first information, Mr. Loverdos will probably be a candidate with the New Democracy ballots in the southern part of Athens.
Earlier today, New Democracy Prime Minister and President Kyriakos Mitsotakis met at the Maximus Mansion with Andreas Loverdos and executives of the “Democrats” party (Maria Milini, Tatiana Douvaras, Panagiotis console).
“We welcome Professor Andreas Loverdos and executives of the Democrats to the New Democracy. He does not need recommendations himself, as he already has a long career in politics. While our lineup has shown that it keeps its doors open to any power that believes in strong, modern, democratic and European Greece, “Mr Mitsotakis said in his statement.

Who is Andreas Loverdos
Andreas Loverdos was elected for the first time with PASOK in 2000, which he did again in the 2004, 2007, 2009, 2012, 2015 and 2019 elections.
His first portfolio was as Deputy Foreign Minister and then took over the positions of the Minister of Labor, the Minister of Health, the Minister of Education.
In March 2024 he had founded the Democrats party with which he participated in the European elections of the same year.
Andreas Loverdos was born in Patras in 1956. He is an Associate Professor of Constitutional Law at Panteion University, where he was a special postgraduate fellowship in 1984-86 during the period 1987-92 lecturer and in the period 1992-95 Assistant Professor of Constitutional Law.
