It is with deep sadness that her family announced her death 27-year-old Anastasia Tasoulaon Monday night.
Anastasia “left” after an extremely difficult and months long battle with her health, both inside and outside the hospital. Her case had moved the whole of Greece, as she was the first patient with cystic fibrosis in Greece (and, as mentioned, worldwide) that he managed to recover from suppression after 221 days.
In the past, she herself had described in touching words the trials she went through, but also her immense joy when she received her gift transplant.
Unfortunately, her adventure didn’t end there. Anastasia was once again faced with the unexpected, as her body rejected the transplant. This rejection led her to a new, painful cycle of trials, which she was ultimately unable to overcome.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, November 14, at 11:00 am, at the Ilioupoli Cemetery.
