An incredible episode between the mayor Alonissos and one resident of the island was noted yesterday (28.08.2025), on the occasion of the unit construction site desalination.
In the area of Milia in Alonissos there were designed desalination unit projects. A 70 -year -old resident came in conflict with representatives of the Municipal Authority and workshops working on the spot, stressing that part of the parcel where the unit will be made is his property.
In particular, while the workshop went to the spot to start work, the 70 -year -old reacted strongly, demanding to stop. The controversy evolved into an episode, in which, according to testimonies, there was also physical tension between Mayor Panagiotis Anagnostou and the resident.
Police were called to the area and proceeded with the 70 -year -old man, who suffered an ischemic incident while being transported urgently by boat to Volos and from there to the hospital.
His state of health remains critical and is hospitalized in repression.
The 70 -year -old reportedly had already appealed to the Committee of Article 152, an institution provided for by the Code of Municipalities and Communities, calling for the annulment of the decision of the Alonissos Municipal Council that approved the project.
It is a process that enables citizens to challenge the legality of local authorities through the Decentralized Administration before they appeal to justice.
