Akis Tsalikis died – he was president of the Thessaloniki Nautical Club

His last breath was left by the president of Naval group Thessaloniki Lazaros (Akis) Tsalikis.

Akis Tsalikis, who was a professor in the Dental Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, had devoted his life and actions to the sea, while he was a founding member of the Thessaloniki Olympic Museum and a member of the Museum’s Board of Directors.

The deceased was passionately devoted to sailing. An active high -end athlete to the end, was a member of the National Team in Class 470 and one of the few Greeks who dared to cross the Atlantic.

As president of the Thessaloniki Nautical Club, he has contributed decisively to the development and international promotion of his group, while as chairman of the Federation Open Sea Committee for many years, he has essentially helped the establishment of Aegean Regatta as a leading institution that combines our championships with our championships.

Akis begins his “last fight with a light wave”. But his work in the South, his love and pride for his athletes and athletes, and his contribution to the progress of our athlete will stay here and mark, as he would like, the new beginning of his favorite group. The Hellenic Sailing Federation will stand up.

Akis Tsalikis – he is certain – will be missing from our sailing family.

We express our deep sorrow and sincere condolences to his family, his own loved ones and the Naval Community of Thessaloniki.
