“Present” by PASOK, SYRIZA, KKE and New Left
Negative opinion was made by the Ethics Committee on lifting of immunity of the 14 MPs of the ND – members of the Triantopoulos Pre -Trial Committee for the lawsuit filed by the president of the victims of Tempi, Maria Karystianou, on the offenses of the ultimate betrayal, breach of duty and abuse of power over their positions and votes in the operation of the Commission’s project.
The ND was opposed to the lifting of immunity, arguing that according to the Constitution, MPs cannot be prosecuted for their positions, views and votes that are consciously provided. The “present” placed PASOK, SYRIZA, KKE and a new left on the general rationale that they are vertically opposed to the ND’s stance on the committee but the vote of Members cannot be criminalized.
On the contrary, “in favor” of lifting the immunity of “14” voted for a Greek solution, victory and sailing of freedom, According to ERT.
The 14 MPs of the ND who participated in the Triantopoulos Preliminary Committee, against whom the lawsuit is directed, are: Panagis Kappatos, Konstantina Karampatsolis, Maria Antoniou, Giorgos Vrettakos, Angeliki Delikaris, Thanassis Zebilis Economou, Stavros Papasotiriou and Asimina Skondra.
Many of the “14” attended the meeting of the Ethics Committee. Next week the case will be introduced for discussion and final decision -making by a nominal vote in plenary.
