AEK: Mitoglou, Simanski, Fernandes and Tsiloulis were cut by Nikolic

OR AEK It continues its planning for the new season, with Marco Nikolic making important decisions regarding the team’s roster, a few days after returning from the Netherlands and in view of the critical European obligations for the 2nd Qualifying Round of the Conference League.

The Serbian technician, in his statements before AEK’s return to Greece, had preceded “difficult decisions” and are now taking shape, as four players did not participate in Sunday’s (13/7/25) training and are out of plan. These are Simos Mitoglou, Damian Simanski, Paulo Fernandes and Sotiris Tsiloulis, who will have to find the next station of their career.

The four players are not counted by the coach and are now following an individual program, with their concession being launched. The management of the cases has been undertaken by the technical director, Javier Ribalta, with the aim of securing economic benefit for the club.

A special case is Eric Lamella, who also did not participate in training, although he was already pursuing a special program. His high contract and the different conditions of his cooperation with AEK make the issue more complex, but for the time being there is no proposal in the Union.

Beyond that, a key priority is the acquisition of a defensive tackle with creative characteristics, as is a center forward.
