AEK lost on paper the second final of the EHF European Cup – guilty of not conducting the race according to the federation

Bad news in AEK and the Union’s handball section, as the EHF European Cup federation has announced that the second final of the Union with Alkalid in Northern Macedonia would be guaranteed in favor of the home side.

As a result, AEK, who had lost the first game in Greece (29-25), has a second defeat (10-0 on paper), resulting in the title of the new EHF European Cup holder ending in Alkalide’s hands.

On Thursday (05/6/25), the European Federation made a statement in which it announced its decision to secure the match in favor of the team from Northern Macedonia, with the Union being considered guilty for a match.

It is recalled that AEK did not fight in the match, as its 200 fans who traveled from Greece failed to enter the court, with the Union throwing responsibility for the organizers.

However, the federation’s decision was opposed to the Union, with the trophy organizers taking the part of Alkalid, who takes the race on paper.
