Sweeping were the checks carried out by the audit scales of the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE), During the months of May to September 2025, throughout the Greek territory and with a special targeting of summer destinations, throughout mainland Greece and the islands.
Specifically, 41% of AADE’s audits were targeted at tourism business sectors (restaurants, drinking activities, hotels and similar accommodation) by identifying 33.73%.
The 5 geographical regions where the highest rates of offenses were marked were:
- Western Greece (Prefectures of Aitoloakarnania 42.07%, Ilia47.22%, Achaia 43.61%)
- Central Greece (Prefectures of Attica 37.32%, Euboea 47.44%, Boeotia 34.04%)
- Peloponnese (Corinthian prefectures 54.02%, Arcadia 45.88%, Laconia 42.15%)
- Crete (Lasithi Prefectures 42.77%, Chania 43.83%)
- Southern Aegean (Cyclades Prefecture 33%, Dodecanese 39.72%) while at low levels the following are left in the following areas:
- Northern Aegean (Lesvos Prefectures 24.75%, Chios 22.34%)
- Eastern Macedonia & Thrace (Drama Prefectures 20.65%, Xanthi 23.18%)
- Western Macedonia (Kozani Prefecture 22.28%)
At the same time, coordinated tax evasion companies were carried out following relevant information bulletins, such as the “cruise I will go cruise”, with which the AADE auditors raided Santorini, Kos and other islands.
The AADE auditors imposed fines and padlocks for more than 48 hours, on 300 companies, which are mainly active in the catering and leasing of umbrellas and seats (69%), while a total of 202 cases of POS cash registers were identified at which fines were imposed.
Indicative:
- In Heraklion, Cretein a restaurant that had not forwarded the E-Send Platform 18,515 evidence, worth 275,000 euros, a 4-day fine and a lock of a padlock was imposed.
- In Paros, A carpentry company that had not transmitted to the e-send 7 receipts totaling € 111,000 and had not connected the POS with the cash machine, a total fine of 33,360.85 euros and a 2-day lock was imposed.
- In Gythio Laconiain a super market that had not forwarded the E-SEND platform of 5,409 tax data worth 101,000 euros, a fine was imposed and a 48-hour store sealing.
- In Serresin a pastry shop that had not transmitted to the e-send platform 13,246 receipts, totaling € 102,229.69, a 4-day fine and a padlock (a hub) was imposed.
- In the towerat a grill that had not forwarded 6,699 proofs of 60,338.95 euros to the e-send platform, a fine and 48-hour padlock was imposed.
- In MykonosFolk Art shop had not cut evidence – for 2021 and 2022 – 107,000 euros, collecting and not giving VAT 26,000 euros. A fine of 13,000 euros was imposed for two days.
- In MykonosItalian restaurant had not issued a receipt in 2021, 28,000 euros now VAT of 4,000 euros. The fine is 2,000 euros, accompanied by a 48 -hour padlock.
- In Kateriniin a retail store that had not transmitted 6,378 tax data to the e-send platform of E-378 Taxes totaling 35,108.71 euros, a fine and 2-day padlock was imposed.
- In Santoriniat 2 popular beach bar that had not issued evidence of a total of 1,644.25 euros and € 1,141.13, a 2 -day fine and a padlock was imposed.
- In Rhodes, A fine, accompanied by a 48 -hour padlock, was imposed on a seaside operation that had not issued 20 receipts totaling € 6,489.91.
- In Paxosin a cafe, which issued 214 inaccurate tax data worth € 3,672.27, a 2 -day fine and a padlock was imposed.
- In Samosin a restaurant that had not issued 14 receipts, surcharged penalties due to relapse, padlocking for 96 hours.
Tax evasion is also detected:
- In umbrella and beach seats lease, with 48 -hour padlocks getting into beach In Chania, Rethymnon, Rhodes, Samos, Corfu, Syros, Sifnos, Poros and Aegina for non -issuance of proofs of a total of 10,000 euros.
- In personal service providers, with hairdressers and other grooming services at Attica, Thessaloniki, Patras, Larissa, Heraklion and many Aegean islands to be sealed for 2 days, due to non -issuance of more than 55,000 euros in total.
