AADE: Digital and quickly stopping work for professionals and businesses

Significant improvements in the process of stopping tasks for professionals and business are in force, with the publication of the decision of the Commander of the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE), George Pitsilis.

The process, which is digitally implemented since November 2024, using automated verifications, is further simplified and reinforced by new capabilities by AADE, making it easier and faster. To date, more than 36,000 requests for interruption of professionals and businesses have been completed, of which about 34,000 fully automated.

The main improvements of the process are:

Immediate interruption of work, under conditions, even in some cases, such as:

  • Occupation
  • possession of cash registers (tax mechanisms -p.)
  • Finding of non -essential differences in submitted suppliers’ elements
  • Disclaimer the date of self -release of vehicles from the date of interruption of tasks.
  • Discard of the VAT credit balance from the completion of the interruption of tasks.
  • Expanding cases served through digital application and are promoted for further verification and audit, if required, to the competent tax services.
  • Availability of digital application with new functionalities

New operations will be accessible of 1/7 At Myaade Digital Portal (Myaade.gov.gr), on the registry and communication route> Change Registry Data> Stopping Business Work.

Until then, taxpayers who:

  • wish to stop work before 1/7 and
  • have not been able to complete their request through the current application

Can submit their request through digital application ‘My requests’on the route new request> Taxation> For me or represent another taxpayer> Thematic Group: Register> Procedure: Stopping Natural Persons (or Legal Entities/Legal Entities, where appropriate) for cases where they are not digitally supported.

It should be noted that a fine submission is not imposed for the interruption requests to be submitted from the entry into force of the A1060/2025 Decision. to 1/9if the following conditions are cumulative:

  • The taxpayer had attempted to submit the request to the digital implementation of “Discontinue Business”,
  • The procedure was not completed for reasons regulated by the new decision and
  • The attempt to submit has been recorded in the AADE Information System.

With the new decision and by upgrading the digital application, they are expected to be served above 15,000 requests Citizens and Business.
