A confrontation broke out today at noon (17.07.2025) between New Democracy’s parliamentary spokesman, Makarios Lazaridis and PASOK’s parliamentary spokesman, Pavlos Geroulanos, following her statements Evangelia Liakouli About the “junta” government.
Makarios Lazaridis, after first describing Evangelia Liakoulis as unacceptable, called on PASOK to condemn what he was saying. On the part of the opposition party, Pavlos Geroulanos declined to talk about the statement, but pointed out that the New Democracy government is trying to change the political agenda.
“Every time the ND is squeezed, he is looking for a statement or statement to go to the discussion where he wants to go. Gentlemen we do not rule. You rule. Executives of your own government have told us that they are in favor of justice and you refer everyone to justice because you want light everywhere.

Responding, Makarios Lazaridis noted: “I did not expect Mr. Geroulano from you not to dare to condemn the unacceptable statement of your MP who described a junta a party that restored democracy.”
Shortly thereafter, Larissa MP Evangelia Liakoulis called for a personnel, referring to falsification of her statements.
“Mr. Lazaridis apparently watched the montage of the Truth Group. He failed to say that I was answering Mr Simopoulos who said he disagreed with his party and that he would not refer to justice for any reason.
I replied to him then that what he describes is an uncontrolled system, and we have a criminal system and a constitution. I told him that what he describes does not fit a democracy, but a junta. They distorted my statement, as they do since last night, ”he said.
