The couple married in 1933 at the Salsbury Cathedral, where Norman was a choir. He served as a senior officer in the Royal Payment Corps of the Army and was placed in Gibraltar and Hong Kong, where Caterham created a kindergarten.
The couple had two daughters and returned to Britain, where her husband died in 1976.
Caterham has been living in Surrey for 50 years and has three grandchildren and five grandchildren.
“I have turned around the world and ended up in this wonderful house, where everyone falls with the mud for me, giving me what I want,” he said.
