The central message of consistency reward is also confirmed, the prime minister stressed
The prime minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the seat of the Independent Public Revenue Authority in the morning (AADE), where he was informed of the highly improved tax filing rates and the positive impact of the discounts now offered for rapid submission and repayment of the tax.
In the first 23 days, 1,155,685 tax returns were submitted, increased by almost 150% compared to the corresponding period of 2024, when 462,565 statements had been submitted, and by 388% compared to 2023, when only 236,853 had been submitted.
The positive impact of the application has been highlighted for the first time this year, a specific and unchanging time of time to submit income statements, until July 15, while highlighting the great importance of scalable discounts, up to 4%, which are given as a reward for those who are completed by the process of completing the procedure or the time of the time. partially.
Mitsotakis: We encourage even more to use this important motivation
“Those who submit their tax return until April 30 have a 4%discount. Many of our fellow citizens, over 1 million, have already responded. So, we encourage even more to rush and exploit this important motivation, “said Kyriakos Mitsotakis during the presentation of the data by AADE Governor George Pitsilis, Minister of National Economy and Finance Kyriakos Pierrakakis and Deputy Minister.
“It is clear that there is finally a class in the process of submitting tax returns, with incentives that are not obedient. The elements are indeed impressive, and I think this is also confirmed by the central message of the reward of consistency and apparently that the inadvertent of the state is giving extensions to a process that must be completely established and everyone knows that the dates we have identified are.
In addition, as evidenced by the figures, it increased by approximately 100,000 compared to last year the pre-paid and pre-cleared statements, largely thanks to the timely registration of all public bodies in the Special Register of AADE, which facilitated the registration of their tax information. The obligation to register for public bodies was legislated last year and provided for a fine on the heads of services who would not deliver the necessary information in time.
Pre-cleaned statements are now more than 1.5 million taxpayers.
Touch 94% returns
As noted at the following meeting, the new system improves citizen service, contributes to the fight against tax evasion and gives the state much better visibility in its revenue and executing the annual budget.
At the same time, the state can be much more consistent in its obligations to citizens. It is indicative that 93.9% of tax refunds and set -offs that emerged from the submitted statements of individuals has been rendered to date.
During the meeting, the AADE’s subsequent initiatives were also reviewed to digitize transactions, better service of taxpayers and market audits.
