The 50% reduction in port fees contribute to the attempt to retention prices in the ferry, says Kikilias

“Community legislation from 1/5/2025 imposes, unfortunately, on shipping all over Europe, special fees and additional costs in terms of turning to green fuel. Thus, in the ferry industry, a cost of costs are created. With this amendment, the government is limiting a 50% (except cruise) port for one year for the benefit of passengers because it has an additional opportunity for ferry companies to contain their pricing policy in a period of difficult economic conditions, “the minister explained.

Mr Kikilias emphasized that “the equation, in order to find a way to support our compatriots and fellow citizens was not an easy task” and would not be solved without the excellent cooperation with the Deputy Prime Minister, Kostis Hatzidakis, who is also responsible for his responsibility. Lebanese, as well as the relevant Deputy Ministers of Finance, Thanos Petralia and RIS, Nikos Tsafos, whom he thanked.

Finally, in terms of compensation for the reduction of port fees, he stressed that it will be achieved by equal support given through the Green Fund for the implementation of green and environmental actions, with the aim of environmental upgrading of ports.
