The Euroleague announcement

After successful events in Sopot, Milan, Paris and Vitoria, the Euroleague Basketball Program and Motorola brought their initiative to Bouncing for Good. On April 1, a special workshop was held at the 57th Elementary School of Athens, where 80 children from eight to eleven participated.

The workshop became even more unforgettable with the presence of two One Team Ambassadors, one of each side of the Greek derby: the Olympic guard, Giannouli Larentzakis and the Panathinaikos guard, Dimitris Moraitis. They joined forces to share their passion for the game and encourage young participants.

The lab focused on skills that children can learn from basketball. It was designed to instill essential values of life, such as teamwork, perseverance and discipline – values that will benefit children both on and off the field. The purpose of the event was to empower the new participants to evolve as individuals, with a strong character and leading potential inspired by the values of sports and the voices of their favorite athletes.

The 57th Elementary School of Athens, located in Kolonos, a degraded district where many families face socio -economic challenges and social exclusion, plays a decisive role as a safe and supportive space for children. Many of the students come from immigrants and fight with poverty and limited access to educational resources. Despite these difficulties, school is a living environment where dedicated teachers and staff work endlessly to inspire and lift students, cultivating their potential and encouraging them to dream beyond their current conditions.

On April 8, the initiative “Breakfast for the Good” continued with the donation of basketball to 150 children of the 57th Athens Elementary School. This event, which took place from 10:00 to 12:00 noon at the school’s open air stadium, was attended by Larentzakis and his Olympic teammate, Sakil McCisik, as well as two One Team Ambassadors from Panathinaikos, Moraitis and Houmis. Together, they personally handed the basketball balls, giving children the tools they need to continue to follow their love for the sport and develop further important life skills.

Huanzo Erngometh expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, saying: “It is my honor to be a member of the One Team-Motorola ‘Bouncing for Good’ and to share these special moments with the kids. I spend a lot of time on the stadium.

Giannoulis Larentzakis reiterated this feeling, emphasizing his commitment to the One Team mission: “Seeing the enthusiasm in the eyes of these children reminds me why such initiatives are so important. Basketball teaches us values such as our players, of young people. “

This initiative aims to rely on school efforts by providing students with practical experiences in technology, teamwork, respect and entertainment. For these children, this lab is a rare opportunity to explore new opportunities, develop basic skills and build confidence to envision a better future. Experience hopes to leave a permanent impact, enhancing the vital role of the school in shaping the lives of its students and providing hope the wider community.
