The Plenary of the House will now decide by secret ballot with its referral to the Judicial Council
The 14 votes of the majority of the majority approved at the last meeting of the pre -trial committee the New Democracy’s finding of a criminal prosecution against former Deputy Minister Christos Triantopoulos on the offense of breach of duty and his reference to the Judicial Council.
Following the presentation of the majority finding, the tones of the political controversy rose sharply, with opposition parties targeting the government, accusing it of failing to adhere to the Constitution, but also the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament and “infesting” the functions of the preliminary committee. Immediately afterwards, SYRIZA, the KKE, the new left, the Greek solution and the independent MP Athena Linou left the vote.
After the Commission’s work is completed, the House of Representatives will be spent on Friday, April 11, to give a secret ballot the “green light” for the final referral of Mr Triantopoulos to the Judicial Council.
