Two people arrested last Friday (04.04.2025) at Thessaly for trafficking anabolic and other illegal drugs, with the pieces seized to exceed 8,000.
The two detainees have been active since 2013. They prepared the anabolic and other illegal substances in an appropriately equipped area that maintained a home in Thessaly, while supplying raw materials and other illegal formulations from foreign countries.
Following a investigation by the Division of Financial Crimes Prosecution, the 2 arrested handed over the illegal formulations either by livestock to facilities for sports clubs, which they maintained, or sent them through courier companies.
Their clientele included athletes of clubs and gyms in various parts of Greece.
The detainees were taken to the competent prosecutor’s office.
Overall seized:
- 8.077 pieces (tablets, ampoules, vials, etc.) of banned substances,
- 33 kg and 800 grams of raw materials in powder,
- numerous preparation and packaging materials,
- 4 devices for manufacture of medicinal products – capsules,
- 2 precision scales,
- Numerous handwritten notes, price lists and courier shipping records,
- 92 Sports Property Bulletin and
- 9,230 euros.
The total value of the seized exceeds 20,000 euros, while revenue from their illegal activity is estimated to exceed EUR 400,000.
It is noted that the seized includes fake pharmaceutical preparations, which have brought a fake film of authenticity by the EOF.
