Christos Kanellakopoulos and his brother Basil, the fourth generation of Mercury, was the leaders of the systematic effort to revitalize the traditional crops of Mercouri Estate (which began in the mid -1980s), with the aim of producing high quality standard wines.
They modernized the old facilities with state -of -the -art winemaking machinery and expanded the vineyards with new plantings, which resulted in Mercury Estate wines being in the first place in recent years, having conquered the difficult characterization of the “classics”.
Today, the 5th generation members are active in the business, the brothers Dimitris and Lambis Kanellakopoulos.
