In accordance with Extraordinary Weather Determination Bulletin (EDEK) Issued today, Saturday, April 05, 2025, by the National Meteorological Service (NMS), the weather is foreseen on Sunday afternoon (06-04-2025) with local rains and thunderstorms, a noticeable drop in temperatures and temporary heavy snowfall. The change in the weather will start in the northern country.

A. Local rains and thunderstorms
1. On Sunday (06-04-2025) in the afternoon and evening hours in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace and from the Northeast Aegean (Lemnos area).
2. On Monday (07-04-2025) until noon in eastern Thessaly, Sporades, Evia (mainly in the north) and the islands of the Eastern Aegean.
B. Local Snake Snowfall
1. From Sunday night (06-04-2025) to Monday (07-04-2025) and until early Monday afternoon in the mountains and semi-mountains of Macedonia and Thrace (areas with an altitude of 400 meters or more).
2. Monday morning (07-04-2025) in the mountains of Epirus and Thessaly.
C. Feasily drop in temperature on Sunday afternoon in Macedonia and Thrace and gradually on Monday and Tuesday in Central and Southern Greece.
Frost on Monday night (07-04-2025) in the northern country and in the morning and evening hours Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday throughout mainland Greece.

The General Secretariat for Civil Protection (civilProtection.gov.gr) of the Ministry of Climate Crisis & Civil Protection has informed the relevant government agencies involved, as well as the regions and municipalities of the country, in order to be on increased political protection in order to address the impact of the events immediately.
At the same time, the General Secretariat for Civil Protection recommends that citizens are very careful, ensuring that self -protection measures from risks come from the manifestation of severe weather.
In particular, in areas where heavy rainfall, thunderstorms or stormy winds are foreseen:
To insure objects that, if carried away by severe weather events, may cause disasters or injuries.
To make sure the houses and gutters of the houses are not clogged and function properly.
Avoid crossing streams and streams, pedestrian or vehicle during thunderstorms and rainfall, but also for several hours after the end of their event. Particular attention is needed at the road network, where the road intersects with torrents and there is no bridge.
Avoid rural work and activities in maritime and coastal areas during the occurrence of severe weather (thunderbolt risk).
Protected immediately during a hailstorm. To resort to a building or car and not leave the safe space unless they are confirmed that the storm passed. Quartzing can also be very dangerous for animals.
Avoid passing under large trees, under posted signs and generally from areas where light objects (eg pots, broken glass, etc.) can detach and fall to the ground (eg below balconies).
Follow the guidelines of the local authorities, such as Traffic Police, etc.
In areas where the snowfall and frost event is foreseen:
If they are going to move by car:
To be informed about the weather and the state of the road network
To have non -slip chains in their vehicle and the tank full of fuel
To travel, if necessary, preferably during the day preferring central roads
To inform their relatives about the route they are going to follow
To change their movements to avoid the peak of weather events
Follow the guidelines of the local authorities, such as Traffic Police, etc.
If they move on foot:
Dress up with many layers of lightweight clothes instead of a heavy clothes and wear appropriate shoes to avoid injuries due to slippery
To avoid unnecessary travel during peak phenomena (intense snowfall, frost conditions)
