PPC: New activities aimed

New activities, beyond those of electricity production and marketing are added to its purposes PPC.

PPC’s new activities reflect on the new business plan of the business in and outside Greece, presented at the end of 2024, on the other hand, the group’s strategic plan to convert the former lignite areas of Western Macedonia into a technological and green energy hub for the country and Southeast Europe.

New activities include:

  • Electricity storage: It is recalled that the plan for Western Macedonia provides for 940 million investments in storage units, batteries and pumping stations, that is, hydroelectricity with two reservoirs that produce high demand and high -demand hours.
  • Providing energy saving services, energy inspections and controls. PPC already provides its customers with the energy certificate issuance service.
  • Providing entertainment, multimedia and live streaming services, as well as the development, installation and management of smart cities and lighting applications.

PPC is developing a telecommunications network by utilizing the existing DEDDIE distribution network, which already covers 650,000 households with a target of 1.5 million at the end of the year. The network is in the process of testing from telecommunications services, but the PPC administration does not exclude if there are no lease agreements that the business itself will be available to telecommunications services to final customers.
