Career Day: On Friday the event of the Municipality of Athens for the 5th year

On Friday (4.4.2025) the 5th will be held Career day by Municipality of Athenswhile the Seraphio doors where the event will take place will remain open from 10:30 to 16:30 and participation will be free.

Specifically, the Coordination Center for Migrants and Refugees of the Municipality of Athens gives employment and networking opportunities to everyone and all without discrimination, with a focus on candidates with a refugee and immigration background, organizing the “Welcome Day Day” event.

The event will be attended by 25 companies operating throughout Greece in areas such as tourism, catering, facility management, human resources, construction, transport, retail. Visitors will have the opportunity to chat with business representatives, give their resume and participate in staff selection interviews for positions of different levels of specialization, and the program includes support from work consultants. The interviews will be conducted in Greek and English. At the same time, there will be creative employment for children over two years.

The event started in 2021 and since then 1,600 people and 110 businesses have participated. It is implemented at the initiative of the Skill Development Group & Access to the ACCMR labor market and with the participation of 13 budgets supporting integration.

The Deputy Mayor of Social Inclusion of Migrants and Refugees Thanassis Heimonas emphasizes the importance of accessing refugees and immigrants to the labor market. He specifically says: “At a time when xenophobia and racism are rising, it should be emphasized that the designation of policies in terms of both the needs of the economy and the respect of fundamental rights is a key prerequisite for social cohesion and prosperity.”

He adds: “In the municipality of Athens, while the country is facing significant labor shortages, we aim to strengthen the structures that support integration in cooperation with employers, civil society, central administration and international organizations.”
