A Chinese Rescue Team from Yunnan province of southern China successfully unleashed an elderly man in her capital MyanmarNai Pyi Taou, Sunday (30.03..2025), which had been trapped for nearly 40 hours after the strong earthquake.
The Chinese rescue team arrived at Naypyidaw on Saturday and immediately joined forces with the local Firefighters of Myanmar to seek survivors after the deadly earthquake that was felt even in Bangkok, Thailand.
The 7.7 Richter earthquake caused serious damage to a three -storey hospital, with the first floor collapsing completely, trapping patients under the ruins.
Using life detection equipment, Yunnan’s rescue team identified the woman trapped under the building.
In a close coordination with the local rescue forces, the team quickly started the woman’s release operation.
Until 05:00 on Sunday morning (local time), almost 40 hours after the earthquake, the elderly was rescued successfully.
A total of 1,700 people died, 3,408 were injured and 139 remained missing from the strong earthquake in Myanmar, according to the State Board of Information Group on Saturday night.
According to reports from the country’s Fire Brigade, dozens of survivors have been found, and many corpses have been recovered in various areas, including Mandalay and Sagaing, near the focus of Friday’s earthquake.
In Sagaing, 36 people were rescued and 88 bodies were recovered.
The 7.7 -magnitude earthquake hit the country of Southeast Asia on Friday, with Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Northeast State Shan, Sagaing and Nay Pyi Taw among the most affected areas.
Rescue teams in Myanmar are still looking for people trapped under collapsing buildings, including hotels, schools, mosques, monasteries and houses.
