OR Russia raises the tone towards Greece. At a press briefing in Moscow on Thursday (20.11.2025), the representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharovasaid Moscow “will respond appropriately” to Athens’ decision to develop and use maritime drones in cooperation with Ukraine.

According to Maria Zakharova, Greece has chosen “a challenging and confrontational course” towards Russia, with its decision to develop maritime drones in cooperation with Ukraine.

“Greece was one of the first countries to send weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, which Ukrainian forces use every day against civilians in Donbass, Zaporizhia, Kherson, Crimea and other southern regions of our country,” Zakharova said, denouncing “openly hostile actions” — especially, she emphasized, “given that Greeks live here and centuries”.

The spokeswoman also called the November 17 agreements between Athens and Kyiv, which include cooperation in the production and use of maritime unmanned systems, “another proof” of this hostility.

“This step, like many other anti-Russian actions of the collective Western bloc aimed at bringing about ‘Russia’s defeat on the battlefield’, has already received our own assessment and an appropriate response will follow,” he warned.
