THE Panathinaikos took the win 103-82 against the Dubai BC for the 12th matchday of the Euroleague, with Ergin Ataman deifying his players after the end of the match.
In his statements at the end of the match, Ergin Ataman focused on the performance of Farid and Sluka, while he gave credit to his assistant, Christos Serelis, for insisting on using Kalaitzakis, who did a good job in defense.
Ataman’s statements
“We discussed with the staff that we played bad defense in the first half. We were soft and let possession go. We talked at halftime. Serelis insisted that we put Kalaitzakis in and he was right. It was a very good decision. He created a lot of possession and pressed. We made key mistakes in the first half but in the second half we talked about it and played a terrible match. Slukas organized the game excellently, scored and created.”
For Kenneth Farid: “I say every time. It’s like the best medicine we could get. In the first half he made 4 blocks and gave us space in the attack. He is a very good character and plays with me aggressively. He gave us a lot in the game.”
For Kostas Sloukas: “Kostas is probably the best point guard of recent years in the EuroLeague. He’s a professional, takes care of his body and doesn’t surprise me with what he does.”
