Arrests for heroin trafficking in Tyrnavos

Over two pounds of heroin were identified and seized during police business held yesterday Friday in the municipality of Tyrnavos in Larissa.

Officers from the Drug Enforcement Department of the Larissa Criminal Prosecution and Criminal Division arrested two domestic men, who are accused – on a case -by -case – for violations of drug and weapons legislation.

According to a police statement, the case evolved after the use of information that one of the perpetrators would receive a parcel containing drugs. The two men went by car to a KTEL boarding station in the area. The first was arrested shortly after receiving the parcel, and a few minutes later the second was stalled, who was expecting him in the vehicle.

The package contained four packages of heroin, weighing 2,058 grams. The quantity was seized, as was the car used to transport it.

During the police investigation, in the possession of the perpetrators and in the house of one of them, the sum of 35,090 euros, three cell phones, as well as a hunting carbine were identified and confiscated, which, according to the investigation, was stolen on February 14, 2015 from the area of ​​Attica.

The operation also assisted a police dog detection dog, contributing decisively to drug detection.

The detainees are expected to be referred to the Larissa Criminal Prosecutor, while the police investigation is continuing to complete the case.
