THE Land Army presented today (14.11.2025) the first images from the spectacular exercise “Auspicious Omen 25”, a tactical test aimed at adapting the Armed Forces of Greece to the requirements of the modern battlefield, with enhanced connectivity and operational coupling of conventional and drones.
At the “Aetos” shooting range in Alexandroupoli, and in the presence of the Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias, they were deployed drones of many types and their interception systems, giving a complete picture of the new operational philosophy of the Army and, in general, of the Armed Forces.
At the Distinguished Visitor Day, participants watched scenarios that included the downing of an enemy drone, a precision air strike by F-16s of the 347th PERSEUS Squadron, as well as the tactical transfer of munitions and medicine via unmanned platforms.

The exercise, the first on such a scale for drones and anti-drone systems, proves that the Greek Armed Forces are dynamically entering the new era of the “smart” battlefield, even utilizing products of the domestic defense industry.
In the exclusive videos recorded by OnAlert.gr, moments of drone attacks with grenades, use of smoke generators and impressive operational action of loitering ammunition are captured, which particularly attracted attention due to their accuracy and flexibility.
