“We had a constructive meeting with the energy ministers of Greece and Cyprus on key energy issues and projects, including the Great Sea Interconnector (GSI), which is actively supported by the European Union,” said the commissioner Energy and Housing, Dan Jorgensen.
It is recalled that he met on the afternoon of Wednesday 12 November with the Minister of Environment and Energy, Stavros Papastavrou and the Minister of Energy, Trade and Industry of the Republic of Cyprus, George Papanastasiou.
Noting the importance of interconnection, Dan Jorgensen in a post on social media X, added that “better and upgraded interconnection is essential to lower energy prices and our energy independence.”
At the same time, the Commissioner announced that the “Energy Highways” initiative will soon move forward.
