At the launch of his book Alexis Patelis The Minister of National Economy and Finance spoke yesterday about the “Great Return” of Greece in recent years Kyriakos Pierrakakisimmediately after the conclusion of the Eurogroup in Brussels.
As Mr. Pierrakakis says in a post on social media, “the book reminds us that Greece is a country of conquests and pending issues. What we have achieved is now acquired”. However, “now, we are called to run even faster for what we still have to do,” he adds.
Specifically, Mr. Pierrakakis mentions the following in his post:
“Yesterday, immediately after the conclusion of the Eurogroup in Brussels, ehI had the pleasure of participating in the presentation of Alexis Pateli’s book at the Permanent Greek Representation of Greece in the EU together with Margaritis Schinas and our Permanent Representative in the EU Ioannis Brailas.
The “Great Return” of Greece in the last six and a half years has been an unexpected course, a huge change that reflects the reformist will of Kyriakos Mitsotakis and New Democracy.
What stood out to me from friend Alexis’ book was the emphasis on preparation before the 2019 elections: in the study, the creation of networks, the preparation of laws and the structural changes of the state machine.
The book reminds us that Greece is a country of conquests and pending issues. What we have achieved is now acquired. Now, we are called to run even faster for what we still have to do.”
