In full operational readinesswere raised from the first moment of manifestation of the recent wave of bad weather, all services of the General Secretariat for the Restoration of Natural Disasters with the aim of immediately dealing with the consequences and supporting the affected areas, according to an announcement by Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection.
Immediate mobilization in Lesbos
After the severe weather that hit Lesbos, the Deputy Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Kostas Katsafadoswas in constant communication with the Mayor of Western Lesvos, Taxiarchis Verros, in order to coordinate the restoration actions, the announcement states.
By order of the Deputy Minister, immediately after the bad weather subsidess, levels of the DAEFK began extensive autopsies in buildings, residences and businesses throughout the affected area, with the cooperation of the municipal authority.
The engineers of DAEFK utilize the digital application “Digispect”, through which autopsy data is entered into a real-time geospatial database, ensuring speed, accuracy and transparency in the recording of damages – as successfully applied in recent natural disasters.
As part of the coordination, a working meeting was held between the deputy minister and the mayor of Western Lesvos to define the next rehabilitation actions, with the aim of the immediate return of citizens to normality.

Completion of autopsies in Etoloakarnania
The ranks of DAEFK have already completed their autopsies in all the affected areas of the Prefecture Etoloakarnanias – Vonitsa, Palero, Monastiraki – proceeding with a complete recording of the damages and evaluation of the restoration needs.

Deputy Minister Kostas Katsafados is in constant communication with the local and regional authoritiesensuring the continuous coordination of all the services involved and the rapid activation of the foreseen support mechanisms.
