Theodorikakos: Until January 31 the evaluation and results of the proposals of the development law

Two and a half more months must wait for those who submitted a proposal to join the development law in order to get his answer Ministry of Development.

Specifically, by January 31, the evaluation and results of the proposals of the development law will be completed, according to what the Minister stated. of Development, Takis Theodorikakos today (12.11.2025).

“Strengthening the border areas also concerns our national security itself. We are working hard for this, because we want the new children to stay in their place, to create their family there, and the condition for this is that they have good jobs and proper infrastructure. In the development law we have a special status for the border areas, so that there are more investments there. There is significant progress”, emphasized the Minister of Development, Takis Theodorikakos, speaking on the show “Connections” on ERTNEWS with Kostas Papachliminzos and Katerina Doukas.

He even underlined that in the first two processing regimes, border regions and regions with an income lower than the national average, 361 investment proposals with a total budget of 1.5 billion euros were submitted. He even added that “the evaluation will be completed within 90 days and we will announce the investment schemes that will be supported with 300 million euros, to strengthen our industry even more”.

Mr. Theodorikakos also referred to his presence in Komotini yesterday together with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, saying that “we have included seven companies from the region in the new development law. It is also the country’s second largest industrial area, with 45 active businesses.” Regarding the Interplast company they visited, he emphasized that it “employs 140 workers, exports to 75 countries of the world and is identified with innovation, representing the perception of a more productive, more exporting economy that attracts young people who want to progress in their lives”.

He also pointed out the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence, and that in the first half of 2026 there will be a separate regime that will concern small and medium enterprises and the use of Artificial Intelligence with an aid of 150 million euros. “This is a very good opportunity for businesses to get familiar with AI and it’s a bet we have to win,” he commented.

He even emphasized the very serious investment of PPC in Western Macedonia, one of the largest in the field of Artificial Intelligence worldwide, as giga data will be collected. “The investment will create 1,600 new jobs, while the total budget for projects and investments will reach 8 billion euros,” as the Minister of Development said.

To address the cost of living, Mr. Theodorikakos highlighted the 35% increase in the minimum wage over the past six years and the increases that will be available to everyone from January 1st due to tax cuts. At the same time, he also referred to the bill for the new Independent Consumer Protection and Market Supervision Authority. “It will be voted on November 26, a commander and three deputy commanders will be appointed and in six months it will be completed. It will be strengthened with 300 new auditors, modern digital means and an institutional framework so that it can effectively perform its work for the benefit of consumers”, he emphasized.

Regarding the opinion polls, he pointed out that after seven years of government by the ND there is a normal wear and tear, despite all that “for the first time the ruling party is leading by such a large margin from the second, while the current Prime Minister also has a very significant lead over his opponents”. He even continued that “my assessment is that, if one studies the data from 2009, one will see that the elections are judged in the last months, by the dilemmas posed to the voters. We will remain the central party of developments in the years to come.”

Finally, Mr. Theodorikakos commented on a TV show that referred to him, saying that “I received a wretched slanderous attack that Goebbels would have been jealous of. The presenters isolated two words from one of my statements in an interview I gave and roughly presented me as a person who does not care about prices and what happens. Everyone must respect democracy and basic political morals. You can’t make supposed criticism, describing lies, slander and character assassination. All criticism is accepted and respected, but it must be based on real facts and not on “Goebelisms”, like the ones I received yesterday”.
