Corpse of an elderly man was found early today (12.11.2025) in the sea, at Gate E1, in port of Piraeus.
The first information indicates that it is a man in his 70s. The body was recovered from the port of Piraeus by officers of the Underwater Missions Unit (UMA).
So far it has not been clarified how long the man was at sea or what caused his death. The autopsy, which will be performed in the next few days, will shed more light on the causes of his death.
After MIA officials pulled him out of the water, an EKAV ambulance took him to the Attica General Hospital.
A preliminary investigation is carried out by the Central Port Authority of Piraeus. So far, no further details are known about the circumstances under which the man was found at sea.
