The president of the USA made some important statements today (10/11/2025), Donald Trumpafter saying that air traffic controllers who do not immediately return to work will not be paid, while those who have not been absent in his 41 days shutdown of the federal government, they will get a bonus of 10,000 euros.
“All air traffic controllers need to go back to work, NOW!!! Anyone who doesn’t return will actually have their wages withheld,” said Donald Trump in a post on Truth Social due to the shutdown that has not yet stopped.
The shutdown (financial paralysis) has suspended a series of public services for a full 41 days. Over 1,500 US domestic flights were canceled todaythe fourth day in a row that flight cancellations topped 1,000 as the federal government shutdown continues and the A lack of air traffic controllers is also causing chaos in air transport.
Trump was especially aggressive towards air traffic controllers who didn’t work these days saying, “You’re going to have a negative rating, at least in my opinion, on your record. If you want to leave the service in the near future, feel free to do so, without any compensation or severance pay! You will be quickly replaced by true patriots who will do a better job with the brand new state of the art equipment, the best in the world, which we are in the process of ordering.”
According to the site, Flightaware, until 8:30 a.m. EST (3:30 p.m. Greece), more than 1,550 flights had been cancelled and 1,400 were delayed today after 2,950 flights were canceled and nearly 10,800 others were delayed on Sunday, the worst day for flight problems since the shutdown began on October 1.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) instructed airlines to reduce 4% of daily flights from Friday to 40 major airports due to concerns about the air traffic control security.
The reductions in flights are mandatory to rise to 6% tomorrow Tuesday and then rise to 10% until November 14.
