The applications for the heating allowance can submit from today until December 5 on its myHeating platform Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE), approximately 1.2 million households that meet the income and asset criteria defined by the joint ministerial decision.
The aid ranges from 100 to 800 euros and the advance will be given by December 23. For the beneficiaries who live in the very cold regions of the country, the heating allowance can even reach 1,200 euros, according to the AADE.
According to the system for determining the heating allowance, the amount of the calculation base is multiplied by a subsidy coefficient, called the “degree day coefficient” and scaled from 0.12 to 1.62, depending on the cold prevailing in each region of the country, in order to obtain the amount of the beneficiary’s allowance.
In addition, the amount of the allowance, as obtained after multiplying the calculation base by the subsidy factor, will be increased for each dependent child of the beneficiary by 20%. For those beneficiaries who live in areas where the climatic conditions are characterized by extreme cold in winter and the subsidy factor is equal to or greater than 1, the subsidy amounts will be further increased by 25%.
The route
Applications are submitted electronically, through the myHeating platform on the myAADE digital portalin the path Applications – Popular Applications – myHeating, using the TAXISnet passwords, to join the Register of Beneficiaries of the heating allowance.
In the application, the following are indicated, as the case may be:
- The tax identification number of the person applying for a tax return.
- His first name.
- The number of his dependent children.
- The indication if it is an apartment building.
- The electricity supply number of the main residential property.
- The postal address corresponding to the specific electricity supply, if the residence is owned, rented or provided free of charge, as well as the A.F.M. of the lessor or free grantor.
- The square meters of main areas of the main residence at the time of submission of the application.
- The type of heating fuel or electricity or thermal energy desired to be subsidized.
- The contact details of the applicant (e-mail address, mobile or landline number) are obtained as they have been declared in the myAADE digital portal.
Before finalizing the application, the IVAN account number, which belongs to the beneficiary and to which he wishes to have the amount of the allowance credited, must have been declared.
The heating allowance for the period 2025-2026 includes the purchases of natural gas heating oil, lighting oil (blue kerosene), natural gas, LPG, thermal energy through district heating and electricity, provided that the beneficiary purchases the subsidized types of fuel from October 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026, and especially for heating oil, the purchases made from October 15, 2025, the date from which its disposition begins. Exceptionally for firewood and biomass (pellets), purchases must have taken place between 1 June 2025 and 31 March 2026.
Each beneficiary is entitled to a subsidy for only one type of heating fuel. Beneficiaries of the Social Household Tariff (COT) are also not entitled to an electricity heating allowance.
The apartment buildings
As for the beneficiaries who live in apartment buildings, the basic condition to receive the allowance is the creation of an apartment building profile in myHeating, with the correct entry of the VAT number of the administrator or the company that has taken over the management of the apartment building.
In the event that each apartment has its own burner, then each beneficiary submits his own application as a resident of a single-family house.
According to the guidelines of AADE:
- The administrator/representative enters the details of the apartments of the apartment building/apartment building, as well as the thousandths of participation of each of them in the heating costs (thousands of heating). It is mandatory to declare the thousands of participation in heating costs for all the apartments of an apartment building to create its overall image (open/closed – which belong to natural or legal persons). The total of thousands of apartments must be 1000 to enable the payment feature. The payment option is activated when at least one beneficiary application has been submitted. You can see this by the “Application exists” indicator to the right of the apartment details.
- In the documents for the purchase of heating oil, the VAT number and the number of the public electricity supply must be identical to those entered in the Heating Kilometers Management. In the event that a VAT number has been issued for the multi-dwelling house and heating oil purchase documents must be issued to it, the VAT number of the multi-dwelling house should be defined in the profiles, by selecting the relevant link “Define VAT number”. Even in the event that an apartment building TIN has been assigned, the TIN of the manager/representative will be indicated on the tenants’ applications. Activation of the payment process is not required in case of electricity subsidy.
- In case of a change of administrator, a new apartment building profile must be created by the new administrator. Tenants/owners will submit their applications to the new profile created with the VAT number of the new manager. The new admin should not forget to activate the payment feature as this is a new profile. If the administrator changes after 5 December 2025, when the application deadline ends, then any heating oil purchases made up to 31 March 2026 must be issued under the previous administrator’s VAT number, otherwise no crossover will occur.
- In the event that there is no shared electricity supply, it should be agreed with all tenants/owners whose electricity supply number (usually the manager/representative) will ‘play’ the role of the shared supply to be declared on the apartment building profile.
Managers or representatives of apartment buildings or apartment building management companies declare the following information in myHeating:
- The tax registration number of the administrator or the person representing the apartment building or the management company of the apartment building.
- The A.F.M. of the apartment building, if any.
- The number of the shared electricity supply or an electricity supply corresponding to the apartment building.
- The thousands of participation of the apartments in the heating costs.
- The full name of the natural persons residing in the apartments which are not used as business accommodation. After completing the above information, the payment process is activated.
When the heating in the apartment building is done with any of the other types of fuel, apart from heating oil and electricity, the applications of all beneficiaries are made as in single-family houses. The application does not prevent the administrator from creating an apartment building profile, but it is not required as the heating millimeters are included in the amount attributable to the beneficiary and will be entered by the beneficiary himself (not by the administrator) through the My Documents application.
In a two-family house where there is an electricity supply, the application is made by a beneficiary who receives the heating allowance for electricity. In the event that the names of previous tenants appear on the apartment building profile, then the administrator should inform the new tenant (if he wishes to apply) about the apartment number that he should select in the apartment building profile.
