Lena Samara: Costas Samara’s brother in a new heartbreaking message – “I miss you and this brings me back to reality”

OR Lena Samara she passed away prematurely and unjustly last August, and her people have since been climbing their own Golgotha. Her brother, Kostas Samaras, wrote in the early hours of Monday (10-11-2025) that today would normally be a day of celebration, for his sister’s birthday. But everything is different this year. More dark and melancholic.

Lena Samara passed away at the age of 34. Kostas Samaras tries to draw strength from familiar faces. He always feels his beloved sister by his side, but the pain of loss remains unquenchable. The words he uses in the new message he published are indicative of his psychology.

In particular, Kostas Samaras wrote: “Today would be your birthday. Today I would tell you how much I adore you. But I feel that today and every day you are by our side and we celebrate every moment together. This feeling may soothe me, take me on a journey… but I miss you… and that’s what grounds me to reality.”

The daughter of Antonis Samaras, Lena “passed away” suddenly on August 7, at just 34 years old. She breathed her last at “Evangelismos” hospital due to obstruction despite the superhuman efforts of the doctors.

Earlier, he had an epileptic episode and was taken to “Sismanoglio”. There the doctors recommended further tests so she was transferred to “Evangelismo”, where she was also given a cardiological check during which and while the doctors were taking her history – without showing any obvious symptoms – she suffered the fatal stoppage. Her parents, Antonis and Georgia, were by her side until the last moment, experiencing the ultimate tragedy of life.

The timid and low-key Lena had followed in her mother’s footsteps by studying civil engineering in London, while she had graduated in 2008 from the College of Athens.

Antonis Samaras spoke to ANT1 for the first time about the loss of Lena Samaras on Sunday, November 9. “Thank you for the condolences and me and Georgia (his wife), my son, Kostas from the bottom of my heart and the Greek people and the wave of love and support we are experiencing as a family. It not only moved us deeply but also supported us. I say this with gratitude. As for God’s gift, you always thank God and I thanked him even for the 34 years we had our Lena with us.

The loss of Lena is an experiential situation that brings me even closer to these parents. How each parent experiences the loss of their child is a personal matter. Me and my family are deeply Christian and that’s how I approach Lena, Christianly.”
