OFI – AEK: “Test” in Crete for the Union

AEK will compete in Crete against OFI for the 10th matchday of the Super League (09/11/25, 17:30, Live from Newsit.gr), aiming to return to winning ways, after the draw with Shamrock Rovers in the Conference League.

Having dropped to third place in the Super League standings, AEK needs the “three points” against OFI, to stay close to Olympiakos and PAOK, by whom it was defeated in the first derbies of the season. The Union wants to start a new series in the championship, after the victory of the previous game against Panaitolikos.

The Cretans, on the other hand, got back the three points that had been taken away from them for the case of Papazogloubut remain low in the standings with just 6 points from 7 matches and will therefore be looking for a major positive result against Union.

The preview of the Super League

AEK has four wins, a draw and a loss in the last six away matches against OFI. In fact, in three of their four victories, the Yellow and Black have not conceded a goal.

In their last ten games in both venues, however, only one of the two has scored, with AEK having six wins, OFI two and one match ending in a 3-3 draw.

For the matches that have taken place with OFI at home, there is a favorite score in the victories for the home team, since six of the 17 are 1-0, while the eleven in total are without conceding a goal. There are three with 2-1, with 2-0 and 3-1 which capture all the most frequent scores in the victories of the Cretan team. 1-0 is generally a frequent score, since AEK have also recorded four 1-0 wins.

The last goalless home game against OFI was on 21 October 1979 and was the last of a three-match clean sheet streak that had been achieved in 1977-78, 1978-79 and 1979-80. In total there are four in all years, since there was one in 1969-70.
