According to Le Parisien newspaper, one of the suspects – referred to as B – had attracted approx 20,000 followers on TikTokwhere he allegedly posted pro-jihadist content. The judicial investigation into the case of the jihadist attack in France began on October 10 and concerns “criminal terrorist organization with the purpose of committing acts of violence against persons”.
He also points out that the three women were talking plans for violent acts on the Internetciting a concert hall or a bar in Paris as possible targets, and that to that end they met at Lyons.
“Three women suspected of this offense have been charged in custody“, said circles of the Prosecutor’s Office clarifying that “an attack plan aborted in the fall.”
Police arrested two of the women in his area Rhône and another in his apartment Sirafter a series of personal meetings between them in Lyon that raised suspicions among the authorities.
The arrests occurred as France is preparing to mark the 10th anniversary of the November 2015 attacks in Paris and Saint-Denis – a concerted night of terror he left 130 dead and hundreds injured.
It is expected to take place on Thursday national day of remembrance for the victims. In an interview with AFP, the national prosecutor for the fight against terrorism Olivier Christen warned that the jihadist threat remains “the most significant, both in terms of scale and operational readiness”, and that it has “increased” over the past three years.
Despite the memories of 2015, the French authorities emphasized that the early intervention and digital monitoring continue to play a key role in prevention of attacks before they are carried out – as appears to have been the case here.
