Political developments do not stop in Russiawith eyes focused on his movements Vladimir Putin about the country’s political and military leadership, then the rumors of a “rift” in his relations with Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
At the recent meeting of Russia’s Security Council, from which Sergei Lavrov was absent, Vladimir gave the order to resume nuclear tests, a decision that caused several reactions in the West.
The Russian president however seems unfazed by rumors of Lavrov’s “resounding” absence by the powerful Security Council.
By presidential decree, he appointed Andrei Bulyga, one of Russia’s deputy defense ministers from 2024, to the position of deputy secretary of the Security Council, Russian state news agencies reported today (08.11.2025).
Russian news agencies also reported that Lt. Gen. Alexander Sandsik, who served as the commander of Russia’s southern region, was appointed to the post of deputy defense minister, replacing Buliga.
