The General Prosecutor’s Office of Istanbul at Turkey issued arrest warrants on Friday (07.11.2025) for Benjamin Netanyahu, and 36 other Israeli ministers and officials on genocide charges related to his military operations Israel in Gaza.
The arrest warrants from Turkey target many other than Israel’s prime minister, high-ranking Israeli officials, including the defense minister, Israel Katzof the Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvirof the Minister of Borders and Security, Eyal Zamir and the commander of the Israeli Navy, David Shaar Salamaaccording to a press release from the prosecutor’s office dated November 7, 2025.
The investigation speaks of attacks on hospitals and civilian casualties
The investigation is focused on what Turkish authorities describe as systematic violence against civilians in Gaza. The prosecution cited specific incidents dating back to October 2023including attacks on Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital on October 17, 2023 and of the damages to Embley Baptist Hospital on October 21, 2023, which resulted numerous victims among civilians.
Turkish prosecutors also referred to murder of workers in humanitarian organizations from the Central Kitchen of the World April 1, 2024when several employees were hit during humanitarian operations.
The charges stem from allegations that Israeli military operations have systematically targeted civilians and infrastructure in Gazablocking humanitarian aid and access to medical aid.
Prosecutors pointed to statements made through the Sumud Fleet, which they say attempted to deliver aid to Gaza via sea routes.
Recent complaints have led to an official investigation
The investigation began after complaints which were filed in Istanbul Courts on October 4, 7, 9 and 10, 2025. Turkish authorities conducted the investigation under the jurisdiction of the Istanbul Court and in coordination with Turkey’s Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The prosecution stated that the warrants were issued with her authorization granted to them under established legal procedures, characterizing the alleged actions as crimes against humanity that require continued investigation.
